Having had a long pre-real estate career as a business executive and consultant, Tom approaches every potential listing by first answering three principal questions: 1) What are this family's specific goals/needs? 2) What repairs, updates, circumstances will it take to meet or exceed these needs? and 3) "If our roles were reversed .. what exactly would I want to know?
As the local saying goes: "I wasn't born here. But I got here as fast as I could." And when you meet Tom he'll acknowledge that he too was once new to North Texas. A history that he recalls vividly as he welcomes hopeful and excited families to our area. Having worked and lived all over the country Tom is in touch with the challenges faced by today's new arrivals. And having moved his family many times as well as having been over and over by previous employers, he knows what it takes to transition and acclimate one's family to a new school district, new climate, and area. As with sellers, the mindset and philosophy for buyers are similar: 1) What are this family's specific needs/goals? 2) What and where is the perfect home for this family? 3) How can I eliminate as much stress as possible from this move? and 4) "if our roles were reversed. Tom lives in his beloved Argyle, and naturally knows it and the surrounding markets cold. But having represented clients from Whitesboro to Decatur to Ft. Worth and from Grapevine to McKinney, Tom will tell you that success in real estate today is more than local knowledge, it's equal parts listening and negotiations skills, experience, hard work, and above all. Caring deeply about your client, their family, and dreams.
Tom is married to Jollete Ryon, the overall Team Lead, and one of the most successful and decorated agents in DFW. Tom & Jollete have five driven and successful children that are all still in the metroplex. Winters are for family ski trips, spring draws the couple to New Orleans for Jazz-Fest, summers take the family back to Jollete's south Texas roots for deep-sea fishing and beach-time, and fall to the Rockies for fly-fishing as the aspens change. The couple married in 2014 and subsequently joined forces in the business. As previously mentioned, Tom came to Real Estate from a long and distinguished corporate career. After joining IBM right out of school he went on to executive roles in IT at Enron, Deal Foods, Totality (internet startup), MCI, and Verizon. In all, Tom brings to the table a proven Real Estate track record, and unmatched business acumen, and a passion for family, and for delivering exemplary customer service.
