Pecan Square's Fall Calendar Runs Between the Arena and a Hilltop on Thompson Road

October 8, 2026

"Six months ago, I never would have believed there'd be a line for our coffee tent at the Hilltop Farmer's Market on Sundays." Tony Daussat said that in September 2025. A year earlier, in 2024, he and his family had moved to Pecan Square. In the same interview, he named 101 Plaza Place as the address of his first café.

His path from a market tent to a café counter also maps where Pecan Square's weekends happen this fall. The retail planned at the community's own corner of FM 407 and Cleveland-Gibbs Road is still being built. Until it opens, the season moves between two addresses. One is the community's event space at 2701 North Market Square Lane. The other is Hilltop Truck Park at 8150 Thompson Road.

From a Tent on Thompson Road to Suite 150

Daussat started Function Coffee Co. as a roaster while he still worked a corporate job. His wife, Devin, suggested he build the brand and a following before taking on the risk of a café. He took a coffee cart to farmers markets and pop-ups, selling bags of beans and canned iced cold brew lattes that he sealed in front of customers. By the third pop-up, the line wrapped around the market. After one Hilltop market where the cold brew lattes sold out completely, he and Devin decided it was time for a shop.

Function Coffee Co. opened on May 16, 2026, at 101 Plaza Place, Suite 150. Daussat counts 435 days between roasting his first bag and opening the doors. The address is in the Northlake Commons shopping center, not inside Pecan Square. He chose it over a chance to take over a shop in Grapevine, where the family used to live.

The café doesn't have a drive-thru, and when Sprudge profiled it in September 2026, mobile ordering hadn't been turned on yet. Daussat told Sprudge he knew what he was giving up in the suburbs. He wanted to learn customers' names and orders. The beans are roasted on two Bellwether all-electric roasters, which he says produce nearly 90% fewer emissions than gas-fired roasters. Next door at Suite 100, Crave Cookies opened earlier this year. Cross Timbers Gazette listed it in its June 23 business roundup.

That covers weekday mornings. The market that gave Function Coffee its start runs every Sunday this fall.

Hilltop's Market Dates Through November

Hilltop Truck Park's Farmers Market runs Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Its Twilight Market runs every other Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. The park's posted schedule for the rest of the season:

  • Sunday Farmers Market: Oct. 11, 18 and 25; Nov. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29
  • Saturday Twilight Market: Oct. 17, Nov. 14 and Nov. 28

Hilltop also has three special events on the calendar:

  • Northlake Margarita Festival, Saturday, Oct. 10, noon to 6 p.m. The organizer, the International Margarita Organization, lists tastings, food vendors and a live DJ.
  • Barktober, Saturday, Oct. 24, starting at 5 p.m. Raffle and auction proceeds go to Easy Street Animal Shelter.
  • Holiday event, Saturday, Dec. 12, starting at 6 p.m. Free, with Santa, the Grinch, a snow machine, food trucks and a Christmas market.

One practical detail from the park's vendor page: it tells sellers to bring tent side walls because the hilltop can get windy. On a breezy November Sunday, it's a good reason to bring an extra layer.

Two Saturdays Use Both Addresses

The Pecan Square HOA's October calendar mostly lists recurring weekday activities, including Camp Gladiator, an F3 Men's Workout, men's basketball, Bible study and a Lunch & Learn. The bigger fall events fall on two Saturdays. On both, something happens inside the community and then Hilltop picks up the evening.

Saturday, October 17

  1. 4 to 6 p.m., Pecan Square Car Show at 2701 North Market Square Lane. The HOA is hosting, and all proceeds go to Tarrant Area Food Bank.
  2. 5 to 9 p.m., Twilight Market at Hilltop Truck Park.
  3. 6 to 8 p.m., Halloween Bash at Hilltop. Free, with truck-or-treat, a costume contest, face painting and a vendor market.

All three fit in one afternoon and evening, and the Halloween Bash takes place during the Twilight Market.

Saturday, December 12

  1. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Pecan Square & Harvest Holiday Market Day at Pecan Square's Arena. A public event listing calls it an annual market shared with Harvest, Pecan Square's sister community, and names Bakeshop Pleasures as host. The HOA calendar doesn't list it yet, so check the date with the organizer before you go.
  2. 6 p.m., Hilltop's holiday event, with Santa, the Grinch and the snow machine.

Harvest families have their own calendar too. Our guide to community events in Harvest covers what happens on that side of FM 407.

Between those two Saturdays, the Town of Northlake has Christmas at the Commons on its 2026 schedule for November 30. The town's July planning packet gives no hours or program details yet.

New Weeknight Stops Since Summer

Away from the markets, several places have opened since June. Cross Timbers Gazette's September 16 roundup reported Chuy's Tex-Mex open at 1061 Market Way and Mo' Bettahs Hawaiian Style Food at 1228 FM 407, Suite 130, both in Harvest Town Center. The same roundup reported Shark Club Sports Bar & Grill open inside Northlake StarCenter at 13850 Chadwick Parkway, and G.O.A.T's Arena Sports Bar & Grill at 1633 Robson Ranch Road. The town welcomed G.O.A.T's with a ribbon-cutting post on September 22.

Shark Club is part of Children's Health StarCenter Multisport Northlake, which the Dallas Stars and the town opened on March 31. The complex has skating and several court sports, and Shark Club also runs the Shark Shack concession, which serves coffee and smoothies. For families with kids in practice there, that's another place to get coffee.

Pecan Plaza Is Still Mostly Construction

The shops closest to home are at Pecan Plaza, at FM 407 and Cleveland-Gibbs Road. In January 2026, Hillwood said the first commercial buildings broke ground the previous October and were projected to open in late 2026. At the HOA's annual meeting in February, Phase 1 had 10 pad sites. Six were sold, one was under contract, two had letters of intent and one was still available. The tenant list included CVS, Little Caesars, NK Beauty Bar, Hand & Stone Massage, Freeform Chiropractic, Nekter Juice Bar, Hashtag India, Prayers & Pilates, a wing restaurant and a daycare.

State construction filings reported since summer give dates for three of the projects:

Project Address Size Filed timeline
Freeform Chiropractic 8040 Cleveland Gibbs Rd, Suite 100 1,760 sq ft finish-out Scheduled start Sept. 15, est. Feb. 1, 2027
Retail shell, no tenant named 8080 Gibbs Rd 6,200 sq ft Aug. 31, 2026 to est. May 2027
Hashtag India FM 407 at Cleveland-Gibbs Rd 3,000 sq ft Starts Dec. 2026, est. Dec. 2027

None of these sources confirms that any Pecan Plaza tenant is open yet, and the dates filed so far run into 2027.

The two new parks are also still listed as coming soon. In February, Hillwood scheduled Daffodil Park and Jack's Junction for fall 2026. Daffodil Park is planned with a playground, a tot track, a shade structure, glider swings, a lounge area and terraced lawns for community events. Jack's Junction is built around climbing and balance play, with lawn and seating for parents. We couldn't find a newer announcement confirming either one has opened. Until one appears, the Car Show and the December market stay on North Market Square Lane and at the Arena.

If you're keeping an eye on what Pecan Plaza's new tenants and parks could mean for your home's value, North Texas Team tracks every filing and opening around FM 407 and Cleveland-Gibbs. Schedule a Concierge Consultation and we'll go over what's open, what's still under construction and the dates on file so far.
